Privacy & Analytics
AutoPage collects a minimal set of anonymized product analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This page describes exactly what is collected, what is never collected, where the data is processed, and how you can turn analytics off for your entire installation.
What we collect
Section titled “What we collect”- Product usage events, such as: the app was opened, a rule was created, updated or deleted, a macro rendered successfully or failed.
- Anonymized identifiers: events carry a one-way hash (SHA-256 with an application-side salt) derived from the Atlassian account id and site id. This hash cannot be reversed into an account id, and we never store or transmit the plain account id.
- Technical context: the AutoPage module that produced the event (for example admin page, macro, issue panel) and the app version.
What we never collect
Section titled “What we never collect”- No Jira work item content (summaries, descriptions, comments, field values)
- No Confluence page content, titles, or space information
- No names, email addresses, or plain-text account ids
- No rule contents (templates, JQL, configuration values)
- No session recordings and no autocapture — only the explicit events listed above
Where the data is processed
Section titled “Where the data is processed”Analytics events are processed by PostHog (EU Cloud, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany). PostHog is listed on Atlassian’s approved analytics tooling list for Forge apps, and the endpoints are declared in the app manifest as analytics egress that is out of scope for end-user data (inScopeEUD: false). No analytics data leaves the EU.
Site-wide opt-out for admins
Section titled “Site-wide opt-out for admins”Jira administrators can disable analytics for the entire installation — including all end users viewing AutoPage macros or issue panels:
- Open the AutoPage administration in Jira.
- Go to Settings and find the Privacy section.
- Turn off Anonymous usage analytics.
The setting takes effect immediately for new sessions. It is stored inside your installation’s own app storage and applies to every user and every AutoPage module on the site.
